Tennis Elbow

Tennis elbow got it’s name from injuries playing a backhand shot. It causes pain on the outside of your elbow and into your forearm, making everyday gripping activities difficult and uncomfortable. Despite its name, you don’t have to play tennis to develop this condition – it’s common in people who perform repetitive gripping or wrist movements.

What Causes It?

Tennis elbow typically develops from:

  • Repetitive computer work or typing
  • Manual tasks like painting or hammering
  • Prolonged gripping activities
  • Racquet sports
  • Poor technique during activities
  • Sudden increase in activity involving gripping
  • Overuse of wrist and finger muscles

Our Treatment Approach

Drawing on decades of experience treating tennis elbow, we provide comprehensive care that includes:

  • Detailed assessment of your movement patterns and daily activities
  • Hands-on therapy to reduce pain and improve function

Golfers Elbow

Golfer’s elbow causes pain on the inside of your elbow where the forearm muscles attach. Similar to tennis elbow but affecting different muscles, this condition can make gripping and lifting activities painful, whether you play golf or not.

Golfer’s elbow commonly develops from:

  • Golf or racquet sports
  • Using screwdrivers or tools repeatedly
  • Water skiing or other grip-intensive activities
  • Heavy lifting or forearm-intensive work
  • Repetitive wrist flexing movements
  • Sudden increase in activities using forearm muscles
